Improve safety on site
To apply for a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card you must demonstrate your occupational competence and, in most cases, you must pass the CITB Health Safety and Environment Test within the previous two years.
The type of test you need to take depends on which card you are applying for.
The aim of the test is to examine knowledge across a wide range of topics to improve safety and productivity on site. It is usually taken as a PC-based touch screen test at either a mobile testing unit or an accredited test centre. Most people applying for a CSCS card must pass the appropriate health and safety test as well as prove their competence in the required way for the card they are applying for. From 2 April 2012 the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test replaced the Health and Safety Test. The new test introduced a host of new updates to help raise construction standards in a changing industry, while retaining traditional health and safety elements.
Learning and Skills Solutions are licensed by Prometric to deliver Health & Safety testing and currently have approved CSCS testing sites in London and Colchester which is provided FREE OF CHARGE to our customers.
From the 1 July 2014 those who need a CSCS “Green” Card can obtain one by completing a Level 1 Award entitled Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. This includes those entering the construction industry plus those who are renewing their “Green” card.
The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is a qualification that is aimed at learners who currently work, or want to work, in construction.
Learning and Skills Solutions are accredited by the British Safety Council to deliver this qualification and are delighted to provide it FREE OF CHARGE alongside the CSCS test and card when participating in our funded English and Maths training in London or Colchester
Successful completion of this qualification will enable learners to apply for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Green Card* which allows access to construction sites in the UK as a non-skilled worker.
Once the Health & Safety Test has been successfully passed we also provide all of the administration involved in issuing the CSCS card to the learner…FREE.
